We arrive to the kids and then to Canada for three weeks

We finally arrived to the kids north of Seattle after spending six weeks getting here - talk about job security. After assisting with some honey do's and me now playing Gofer (you know go for this and go for that) while I watched on while my children actually performed the tasks. I was going to start my helicopter training while I was up here - but as usual a day late and a dollar short. They had cancelled the program two weeks before my arrival. At least I had a nice lunch with my daughter at the air port. Deborah and I also had a nice lunch at a local gulf course. This is something like while the cats a way the mice will play.

This all carried on until June 4th when we hit the road again. This time to a place that Joan said she wouldn't come back to - Canada. When we came through in 2017 we sat for over four hours because we asked to have our passports stamped - like we use to do all over Europe. Is it the changing times or back then it was military guarding the boarders. Now it's contractors with no personality. Since we didn't want to wear out our welcome and we didn't want to go back the way we came we decided we would give Canada a chance again. Would you believe Joan said we are not coming back again. We spent several hours there again as they went through the motorhome. Don't know what it is but they seem not to like us.

Once we were through the boarder it was a different experience. Our first stop was out side a town called Hope in British Columbia (BC). The ark we stayed at was really nice and again really nice surroundings.

While we were here we were informed that he first Rambo was made in the area. You would have never known it with the wood carvings of him and Brian Donaghy mixed with all of the other wood carvings.

From here we headed north towards Prince George which seems to be in the middle on Canadian Hwy 16 between Prince Rupert to the west on the coast and then east out of BC and into Alberta (AL) end Edmonton. We stayed in a campsite just south of town. It's surprising how they have super Walmart's but no SAMs clubs. Now Costco is every where instead. The pictures below are of our trip up. The picture of the stick man with PG on it I told Joan it was for her favorite tea - PG tips. Actually it's for Prince George.

From here as we were heading west on Canada's 16 towards Port Edward and he end of 16 at Prince Rupert. It was a beautiful drive through the mountains and then a long a river till the coast. While driving along we were greeted by a deer running a long the highway. We then saw to moose off of the side of the road. As you will see by the pictures they have wild life postings continuously along the way.

We've arrived in ort Edward. A small fishing village that had one of the last Canneries.

The local gas station - the only gas station. As we looked over the hill from the back of the motorhome. This was one of our lovely sites.

This RV park is clearing the land to lace a couple of cabins up here.

Looking down from the front of our motorhome.

The next couple of pictures are f the Cannery.

Whie here we went to Prince Edward where all the action is It seems that over here there aren't restaurants and cafes as much as there are Pubs to eat at. I must admit that I had a very nice bowl of clam chowder while here. The touristy part of town is very colorful. They were having a car show on the day that we were leaving. We passed a lot of the cars on their way in. Our trip back to Prince George was just as beautiful as coming. This time we were greeted by a moose standing in the middle of the road. Joan doesn't like my eight hours plu driving. So on our way back we stopped at this camp site that was in an Native American area. The highway goes through New Hazelton but you go down this road about four clicks (kilometers) and cross this one lane bridge over a gorge to this campsite. We met some really friendly people there.

The following morning we were back on the road heading to Prince George.

As we headed back to Prince George and I crested one of the many hills. By the time this photo was taken I was almost stopped and started creeping towards him. He was turned horizontally to the road when I first saw him.

On the side of the building you can read Prince George.

We only staid one night at our same site when we came in but now we had a problem. We were scheduled to carry on Canada 16 towards Jasper and then up to Edmonton. Unfortunately the roads past Jaser were closed due to the wild fires. So we were in contact with the cam ground we were staying and decided to head even further north and spend a night in Dawson Creek - not the TV show Dawson's Creek. It added another day to our trip but it was worth it. While Joan was trying to communicate with our camp host due to poor cell reception. I saw a bear sitting off the side of the road munching after a long winters nap. After departing here we still had another six hours to Edmonton. We would be out of British Columbia and into Alberta. I don't know which was worse the twisty mountain roads or a four lane highway that was in need of some major repair.

I must admit I do like there moose crossing signs. It's not as if you would miss them even at night time. Could you imagine driving a long at night when your lights shinned up on this. That might cause you to slam on the breaks.

The hase you see in the distance is due to the wild fires.

After spending a couple days here I realized yep another city. So we departed for Calgary and the great stampede. As we drove into Calgary I was thinking yep another city

Like most major events that I have been rior to the actual event - this is another one. It is currently the 20th of une and in two weeks starting July 7th they will be holding their stampede here. In todays world we use our imagination of all the people that will be here.

The camp ground that we are staying at is just north of town and filled with gofers. When not raining I walk the perimeter of this ark and it is almost .8 of a mile. I was out walking one day and I saw this Hare - he was huge. Ive never seen a rabbit this big. He didn't hop like a rabbit - it sprang a long it was like a gallop.

We have two days left before we depart and head back to the US and into Shelby Montana. From there we will head towards Spokane for a couple days and then by the first of July we will be back with the kids for two months and then we are heading back out again.
