Hill AFB, Ogden Utah

We have been to Hill AFB several times in the past. It is such a beautiful area to drive around in. We didn't take any pictures since we had loaded them previously. They also have a nice air museum. We only stayed here a couple of nights. From here we headed to a Place called Crystal Lake. It is associated with McCord AFB out side of Spokane WA. It is a great place to stage out of to go to Mt Rushmore or to Yellowstone National Park. We are heading back here once we finish our Canadian trip.

Coming Out of Canada to Shelby MT

After being out of the states and exploring western Canada - to me British Columbia had much more to offer then Alberta with Edmonton and Calgary. We weren't impressed with either. Went to where the Stampede is held in Calgary about a week before the event. Another Arena/Colosseum.

Once we entered back in the states we Stopped for about five days in Shelby MT. The people were really friendly and helpful. The RV park was part of a hotel with a pool and breakfast. You could use the pool and could get breakfast for $4.00 each. I had some problems with my tow dolly and the hotel maintenance guy was really helpful. Some where along the line leaving Calgary and the border the lever for my tire strap broke and took out my passenger mirror on the Grand Prix.

Another several hour stop at the border coming back into the states. They are not real happy when you bring in or carry a lot of cash. What are you to due if they don't take plastic or US checks? What really bad was the person who has to go in and check your home for meat and poultry - make sure it is cooked. The Turkey sausage in it's package is fine - but not the eggs.

Okay, moving on while in Shelby we were only a couple hours from Glacier National Park. Did you know that starting in May the beginning of the summer season you have to make reservations to go through. Apparently they had lost some people in the past. This way they have a head count of those going through. At least tat is what I was told.

Following are some pictures from Glacier National Park; Pictures are in reverse order.

You know by now one mountain range with a lake looks the same as all of the others. They are majestic but I don't think I'd like to live up here. Oh yeah by the way that white stuff is pretty but I had enough of it when I lived in the UP!

Cheyenne Wy

Our stay in Cheyenne was one that I had looked forward to for a while. Like many of the places on our way north of Seattle we had passed on our previous trips. This time we had more time and were able to enjoy a bit more. the first visit was to a bison ranch. a real one this time. we had stopped at ones in the past where you saw the occasional one or two. But at the Terry Bison ranch - it was the real deal. We had a scheduled time to take a train ride out amongst them. We arrived early and were able to go into their restaurant for a buffalo burger - which are quite good by the way. The train ride wonders through these fields and even back in to Colorado and back again. The buffalo you see in the pictures are just a small amount of what they have. They said that the round up takes for ever and they have to use 4X4's

The buffalo would come up to the train sticking their head in and tong out looking or their treats. You notice that there aren't any other buffalo around while he is in the door. There are two bulls amongst this lot and he is the alfa.

Again the pictures are in reverse order.

Our next trips where they celebrate their western days and then down town where they are proud of their boots!

These boots are in the center of down town.

This is where we parked our motorhome. Before this trip we purchased this screen for the front wind shield. It not only helps block out the sun and heat but you can see out and no one can see in until the lights are on inside. What a beautiful back drop!
