The day has finally arrived for our trip from Deland Florida and back via Biloxi, Seattle, Des Moine, Cadiz (What) KY, Baltimore and then back to Deland. We have departed three days earlier then planned. As the time came closer we started wondering why we hadn't departed yet. So instead of Departing on Monday (Sept 12) we had pushed it back one day (Sunday) and finally departed on the Friday.
It is great being behind the wheel of a class A motor-home again. Except, that I can't go as fast and it doesn't handle like my GP! But with that said Joan and I had a leisure drive up through Biloxi to D'Iberville. We stopped by the house which we are pleased to say that the curb appeal meets with both of our approvals. Once that was accomplished we were able to spend with our long time neighbor. We were able to get caught up with and about family and friends.
From their we ventured over to Margret and Wayne's - where as always we are greeted as family. This has been a tradition since we first met Margret back a decade or two or three. After finally getting the motor-home on their drive way (not on the spot we had originally planned on. Our FR3 did not want to behave with the length and slant. We finally got her into a spot on their drive way. With Wayne's help (I needed some extra height in the front) I was able to put the levelers down for the first time. I went well, we were able to put one of the two slide outs out - The most important one - our King Size Bed!
The following day was relaxing to the point we were not driving. We went two lunch with Margret, Wayne, and two other of Joan's British contingency (Jackie & Carrol). If your in the Biloxi area and looking for a place to eat - it will most likely be at one of the casinos. We went to the one and only in D'Iberville - the Scarlet Pearl. All in all not a bad buffet - the shrimp were some of the best I had ever eaten at a casino.
After this adventure it would normally be time for a nap. NOPE, I hadn't removed all of the love bugs from the front of the motor-home. Did I tell you it is over twelve feet high. If I was departing out at O dark early the following morning - they had to be removed. I could just barely look out the very large window. Job accomplished I was allowed back in to the air conditioning and great conversation with friends. This is all for now as tomorrow is another adventure!!!
