That was it
- sleep is over rated - I was up by 0530. I let Joan sleep and went into the truck stop and
freshened up, grabbed our subways and some coffee and headed back to the RV to
motivate Joan for another day on the road.
We departed with no difficulties and
headed through the Cherokee Nation as we went into Kansas. The first town we
came to was Coffeyville (were the Dalton's are barried - you know the ones who
rode with the James brothers), then to Wichita (which is a large city that I
had thought of moving two when I retired from the Air Force due to all of the
aircraft manufacturers their). From there we headed west on OK 400. After a
couple hours I had to pull over and take a nap. The wind liked to beat me to
death - even with the steering stabilizer on this RV. After being back on the
road for another couple we ended up going through Fort Dodge and then Dodge City.
You know the place were Wyatt Earp, Bat Masterson and those characters of old were. If that's not good enough how about Gunsmoke (we are staying in the Gunsmoke Campground right now). The museum and Boot Hill was interesting.
The next couple of posts will be of pictures from there. This will catch me up and then tomorrow we head to Pueblo Colorado, Aurora CO, Colorado Springs and then Denver. As we head higher into the Rockies and eventually into Marysville WA to visit our children
